Call For Submissions - Women's Work 2012
Deadline: March 12, 2012
In May, 2012, for the sixth year in a row, Tennessee Women’s Theater Project will present Women’s Work, our annual festival and celebration of works created by women. Each year we present the work of women playwrights, poets, musicians, essayists, painters, filmmakers, dancers and photographers from across Tennessee and across the country. This is our call for submissions for Women’s Work 2012.
Once again, for three weekends (May 4 through May 20), Women’s Work will showcase the talents of creative women at Nashville’s Z. Alexander Looby Theater. We're interested in a variety of works: staged readings, reader’s theater presentations; performance pieces by women; films and documentaries by women; poetry readings; singer/songwriters, dance & choreography; stand-up comics; visual art – you submit it, we’ll consider it.
TWTP will provide the stage, parking lot security, front-of-house, stage manager, someone to run sound and lights, printed programs (we have a basic cover, and change the interior for each evening’s presenters,), and a time for a tech rehearsal. It will be up to the presenter to provide any actors, dancers, props, etc. that her piece may require, to rehearse the reading or find a local director who will take over those responsibilities. For out-of-area presenters who need actors and/or a director, we can provide names and contact information for qualified individuals. It is then up to the presenter to make contact and work out all the details.
The deadline for submissions is March 12, 2012. Please right-click this link to download a submission form. There’s a modest, non-refundable submission fee of $20.00, which helps offset our expenses for advertising, venue and security, programs and so on.
We urge you to share this page with any women artists, poets, playwrights or performers you think might be interested. E-mail Maryanna Clarke or call 615-681-7220, for more information, or if you have any questions.
