The play: Janey Jones can’t get out of bed. She’s lost her job, her boyfriend has dumped her, and now she’s on a crash course into the same mental torment that swallowed her grandmother. Desperate and alone, she watches past and present collide as her room is invaded by a fortune teller, her doctor, her dead grandparents, her ex, her mother and more. Can she find a future beyond the darkness, a life worth getting out of bed to explore?

The Disappearance of Janey Jones explores the shifting mental landscape of depression and questions the role of genetics, anti-depressants and self-control, not only for the person suffering from the disease but for the loved ones around them.

Production dates: Opens Friday, February 24 and runs Thursday through Sunday, March 11, with two Sunday afternoon and two Tuesday morning matinees. We perform at the Z. Alexander Looby Theater, 2301 Rosa L Parks Blvd., Nashville.

Rehearsals: 1st read-through January 24. The rehearsal schedule will be locked once the production is cast. Please note that there may be some daytime rehearsals.

Pay rate:  TWTP is a professional company; pay is $15 per hour for rehearsal and $500 weekly during production weeks.

Bring:  head shot and resume. The audition will consist of readings from the script. No need to prepare a monologue; please see the director's note about reading the play.
